Maui

Haleakala Craters
Day 1:

we landed in Kahului, around noon. after renting car we started to drive to Haleakala National Park. we picked drive through lunch headed towards to Haleakala Summit. our plan was stay till sun set.
Haleakala National Park is home to Maui's highest peak, rising more than 10K feet above the sea level. the road to Haleakala summit is long, winding take quite a bit of time to reach summit,

But i can say it can say every mile we drove to top is well worth. we stopped in most of the view spots. there few trails, we could not do it. we drove top of the clouds to get to top. we were in clouds around 20 minutes. man, visibility is around 20 or 25 feet hardly. After talking to local people, i understand Haleakala summit more famous for sun rise. i don't know by the time i planned the trip. But i am not disappointed for sun set also. i watched an amazing sun set. one can see few sun set pictures i have taken from Haleakala.

After watching sunset, we started to drive for hotel room, it is on South Kihue road. just for information there one Indian restaurant, monsoon. on S kihue Road.
Day 2:

Next day morning we decided we will explore Hana and some beaches. Hana drive it is supposed to be one of the main attractions of Maui. But somehow we did not like the Hana drive we liked driving CA-1 most than Hana. May be we did not do enough hikes and trails on the Hana drive. We spotted one parrot person on the Hana Highway. we we took lot of pictures with parrots.

we borrowed Hana drive CD. it gave us lot of information about the places visit. it is audio CD and tells step by step, place by place. what is the next place we would be going, what is the attraction, where exactly will be attraction spot, where are falls, trails.
after Hana, we went to Iao Valley State park. There is a well-marked, paved pedestrian path leading from the parking lot to view Iao Needle and the ridge-top lookout provides incredible views of the valley.

In the evening we settled in Makena Beach state park. it is white sand beach. molokini island is visible from the beach. we spotted couple of dolphins playing that evening. we were tired by hana drive. we took rest on beach for some time the rest of evening we play in pacific waters. we enjoyed sun set in the beach. it was very plasant sun set, cool breeze, orange color sky, littlewarm waters. we were so tired by the end of day. it seems in early hours dolphins can be spotted from very close to shore.
Day 3:
First thing we did on 3rd day was dolphin tour. it is 3 hours tour. Dolphins tour is small cruise to Lanai island from Lahaina Bay. Watching wild dolphins are awesome. we would have seen minimum of 200 dolphins. our guide was excellent.

she translated every dolphins move, sound, actions for us. it took us for more than around 1 hours to reach to a place where dolphins can be seen. we were there for an hour. After dolphin tour, we went for Parasailing, Activity takes place from Kanapali state park. Kanapali is the best place to stay in Maui. Kanapali is famous for golden sand as far as the eye can see. Blue ocean with the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i off in the distance. Pastel colored skies that linger long after sunset. many hotels, condominiums, world class luxury hotels and vacation-club resorts. finally one of the best beach front open air restrauants and shopping mall.

After spending couple of hours at kanapali beach, shopping mall. we decided we will explore another beach before we go to airport for our plane to Oahu. we stayed in Hanakao'o Beach park for the rest of the evning. there two big turtles are swimming 10 feet away from shore.
